Profile of Poverty and Level of Inequality of Aceh Province Population Expenditure September 2019

In September 2019, the number of poor people in Aceh reached 810 thousand people (15.01 percent), a decrease of 9 thousand people compared to the poor population in March 2019 which numbered 819 thousand people (15.32 percent). Meanwhile, compared to September the previous year, the number of poor people fell by 21 thousand people (15.68 percent).

During the period March 2019 - September 2019, the percentage of poor people in urban and rural areas has decreased. In urban areas, the percentage of poor people decreased by 0.21 percent (from 9.68 percent to 9.47 percent), while in rural areas it fell 0.35 percent (from 18.03 percent to 17.68 percent).

Food commodities that have a major influence on the value of the Poverty Line in urban areas are relatively the same as in rural areas, including rice, cigarettes, and tuna / skipjack. As for non-food commodities that affect the value of the Poverty Line is the cost of housing, gasoline, and electricity.
